Genuine parts, OE parts and aftermarket – the difference

Genuine parts

Parts in the packaging of the vehicle manufacturer, as sold by authorised dealers. Often the part itself carries the manufacturer's logo.

OE parts (original equipment)

Most vehicle manufacturers do not make every component themselves. Many parts come from specialised parts manufacturers and are fitted at the factory. The same part is also available in the parts manufacturer's own packaging – identical in quality, usually at a clearly lower price.

Aftermarket parts

Replicas of the original part. Some are good, many are not: poor fit, shorter life and in the worst case a safety risk. That is why we do not sell cheap imitations. Alternatives to the genuine part are offered only if they meet original-equipment quality and, as a rule, come from certified manufacturers (for example DIN EN ISO 9001 / IATF 16949).
